Cantina Valpantena

Cantina Valpantena
The wines of Cantina Valpantena impress with their unusually precise expression, their perfect fidelity and not least by hard-to-beat prices - judges Italy's most popular wine guide, the Gambero Rosso. Founded as a wine cooperative in 1958, today one counts 300 winegrowers with 700 hectares of vineyards. The centerpiece is the modern winery in Quinto di Valpantena, about 7 kilometers from Verona, the reic of oenologist Luca Degani. The technical equipment includes today not only new containers, easy and fast to clean systems, temperature-controlled preparation equipment for small batches and a fully air-conditioned bottle storage. A safe address for Amarone and Recioto fans! The Veneto, as the area is called in Italian, is one of the largest wine-growing regions in Italy and perhaps the most important wine-trading region. His commercial successes with Valpolicella and Bardolino, Soave or even Bianco di Custoza have in recent decades only comparable to the Chianti or the Asti Spumante (with Veneto is increasingly in demand with the Prosecco). Verona invites you every year to VinItalia, the central wine fair for the whole of Italy. The king of the great red wines of the Veneto is the Amarone della Valpolicella. Produced from Valpolicella's classic grape varieties (Corvina and Rondinella) but dried on straw by the end of March (passito method). This makes the Amarone a very strong wine, with powerful alcohol of 15 to 16% - a taste bomb!Corvina or Corvina Veronese is the dominant and best red grape in the villages of Bardolino and Valpolicella. It produces a relatively fruity red wine with a certain almond nuance. In the DOC rules for Valpolicella, in addition to the Corvina vine, a combined proportion of at least 30% of the neutral Rondinella and the bitter Molinara is prescribed in the mixture recipe, which modern producers rather see as a hindrance. The sometimes called Cruina Corvina is best for dry for the AmaroneundRecioto production. It is one of the best grape varieties in Italy.
