Azienda Agricola IL Marroneto

Il Marroneto
A true boutique winery: the whole adventure began in 1974 in the historic rooms of a printing press dating back to 1246, originally used by the Mori family as a drying room for sskastanien (= Marroni), hence the name "Il Marroneto". More from curiosity and fun, they began to vinify some bottles of wine under the guidance of professional oenologists like Paolo Vagaggini. Then Alessandro Mori caught the Brunello virus and the ambition that more vineyards were leased or bought and a small but fine winery rebuilt. However, in order for Alessandro to be able to realize its strict quality policy and the idea of absolute fixation on the terroir, the size of the company remained more than manageable, and so Il Marroneto is still one of the absolute manufacturers in the Montalcino region. The reward of all this effort culminated in one of the highest awards in the world of wine: The Wine Advocate awarded 100 out of 100 points for its 2010 Brunello Madonna delle Grazie.
