The name "STOAN" has a twofold meaning: on the one hand, the dialect reference to the terroir, because Stoan is the dialect word for Stein. On the other hand, he points to the stony, calcareous and mineral-rich soils in the village of Söll above Tramin, on which it grew. As typical as the grape varieties are for South Tyrol (they have been cultivated there for over 150 years), Willi Stürz's idea of combining them in a cuvée is just as experimental and new. The wine is aged in large wooden barrels for about eight months so that its typicality and freshness are preserved.
