This varietal Merlot comes from a vineyard near Pratolino not far from Florence. The south / south-east exposure there and the calcareous Galestro soils, together with the moderately warm microclimate, offer ideal conditions for the production of fine Merlot wines. The grapes are harvested from late September to early October to avoid any jam. The aging in oak barrels for at least 8 to 10 months gives the Cupolone a plus in complexity and rounds off the tannins.
