The grapes come from the Tanca S'Arai vineyard near Serdiana, the vines are around 60 years old. The vineyards are very cold. Refining the wine takes about four months in underground cement tanks. After that, the wine comes to rest for about 3 months in French oak barrels and then again for two months in stainless steel.
Pala was founded in Sardinia in 1950. Mario Pala is currently the third generation to manage the winery.
