Bolgheri on the Tyrrhenian coast of Tuscany is a rather young area in terms of viticulture and the climber par excellence, as a large number of the most important Italian wines come from there. The grapes for this wine are picked by hand, gently destemmed and fermented in stainless steel under temperature control. The wine is then aged in barriques for around 24 months and matured in the bottle for another 12 months on the winery.
